Mobile Applications

The term “application” refers to the use of technology. Mobile applications or “apps” are programs designed for end users. They essentially help users to access the internet services any time anywhere by running on smart phones and other hand-held devices and are either pre-installed by the manufacturer or downloaded by the customer. Apps run on platforms and a platform is a combination of hardware and software used for running applications and could be an operating system or computer architecture. iOS is Apple’s mobile operating system (OS) for its smart phones or regular handheld devices, such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The operating system is based on the Macintosh OS X. Designed for use with Apple’s multi-touch devices, iOS supports input through direct manipulation; either by touch or swiping which we work with.An Android app is a software application running on the Android platform. Android is made for mobile devices such as a smart phone or tablet running on the “Android OS”.
